EMPLOYEE RETURN TO WORK (RTW) FORM

The Conrail RTW Form should be completed by an employee’s attending physician when an employee is released to return to work following treatment for a significant illness or injury requiring hospitalization or surgical intervention or any medical condition that may impact an employee’s performance or safety on the job or following any medical absence of seven (7) days or more, including Family Medical Leave. The information is used to determine Fitness for Duty on returning to work in a safety critical work environment.

FRANK THOMSON AND WOMEN’S AID SCHOLARSHIPS

Children of current and former Conrail employees are eligible to apply for the Frank Thomson and Women’s Aid Scholarships. The scholarships are available to students who are pursuing undergraduate studies at accredited four year colleges and universities. Awards are based on academic ability and financial need. The online application must be completed and transmitted to CSA no later than April 28, 2022. Any required supplemental materials that need to be mailed must be mailed to CSA no later than April 28, 2022 and should be mailed in one package.

CONTINUING EDUCATION ASSISTANCE

Conrail offers a tuition assistance program for employees who want to further their education by taking courses in a business-related area. Courses must be taken at an accredited university, college, or public vocational school. They may include Associate or Bachelor degree programs, graduate courses directly related to an employee’s current position, and non-degree programs leading to a professional license or certification. Costs covered by the program include tuition, registration, required textbooks, and lab fees. All courses require prior approval by an employee’s supervisor or Department Head.

DOLLARS FOR DOERS

Conrail appreciates the contribution our employees make in their local communities through volunteer activities. We honor our employees’ spirit of service and seek to support their volunteer efforts through the Dollars for Doers program. For every hour an employee volunteers at an eligible non-profit organization, he or she earns $10 towards a charitable contribution that Conrail will make to a non-profit organization of the employee’s choice. To qualify, employees must volunteer a minimum of 15 hours and up to a maximum of 40 hours during a calendar year.

MATCHING GIFT

Conrail encourages charitable giving by eligible employees. Through its Matching Gift program, Conrail provides support for eligible educational, health and human service, cultural, civic, environmental, and community organizations. Conrail will match dollar-for-dollar the eligible charitable contributions of its employees ranging from $50 to $5,000 per employee-donor per year. All full-time, active Conrail employees are eligible to participate in this program. Gifts must be contributions made (not merely pledged) from an eligible employee’s own funds and paid by check or donated securities having a quoted market value.
